Vernon Greys & 6th Indiana

ATTENTION, COMPANY!!!

The Vernon Greys, organized in 2007, represent Company A, 9th Regiment (Jennings) of the Indiana Legion - the home guard.  In 2012, we joined the 6th  Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry (the first Regiment formed in Indiana at the start of the Civil War) to represent Company B from Jennings County.

Our reenactors come from all walks of life. We have mayors, teachers, engineers, factory workers, a gunsmith, a minister, a historian, a clocksmith, a business owner, a business manager, a beautician, and middle school and high school students in our ranks. The ladies of the unit also share in many of the events with the soldiers.

We participate in events such as Civil War battle reenactments, living history encampments, educational presentations, and parades.
